Open Access titles available on the elibrary

May 03, 2012 by Gillian McDonald

The University has a large collection of open access books and journals available to everyone via the elibrary.  The Directory of Open Access Journals - DOAJ - alone has around 7500 journals, covering a wide range of subjects and accessible on and off campus.  Other free journal collections include Versita, European Union Publications, Biomed Central and the Public Library of Science (PLoS) journals.

We are also adding new open access book titles all the time, which you can find using the eBook title search tab in the elibrary.  One collection, the National Academies Press has over 2000 books, covering a wide range of topics.

Also on the elibrary is a link to the 'Suggest a free ejournal' form, which you can fill in if you find an open access journal which we do not already have in the collection.
