|MWE Help - News, hints, tips and advice for the MWE|
If you have recently upgraded Firefox to version 4 you may have noticed issues when using CardiffMail Web in Full mode. These issues will soon be fixed with an update to the CardiffMail system, but until that time the MWE Help pages detail a fix that is now available.
The issue stems from a component called Remote-XUL which has been removed from Firefox 4 because of a potential security vulnerability. Currently this component is required by CardiffMail to work correctly in full mode. IBM [the spftware developers of CardiffMail] have issued a fix for this but until INSRV can test and release it a temporary work around has been found.
Please note the fix will enable Remote-XUL but restrict it's use to CardiffMail servers. You should not enable this feature for other services unless you are confident that it will not pose a security risk.
Please consult the workaround for Using CardiffMail in Firefox 4.

Like me, you might well be a blogging newbie. Six months ago the nearest I had come to a blog was occasionally stumbling across one when looking something up in Google. Then Cardiff University decided to implement its own blogging platform as part of the MWE and I was tasked with developing KT for the masses. Helping the uninitiated become bloggers.
We decided to adopt a subtle approach to developing documentation and training materials and the result is what you can see at mwehelp.cf.ac.uk/blogs. The documentation (mainly FAQs) takes a new blogger through the basics of registering and creating a blog, adding entries, enhancing posts with additional content and sharing your blog with the world.
So why not take the next step and go from a blog reader to an active blogger - take the leap!
